The future of the current Indycar World Championship leader is once again the protagonist and he will not race for the Woking team next season despite having an agreement

The Spanish pilot Alex Palouprominent leader of the IndyCar championship with Chip Ganassi, has broken his agreement for 2024 with McLaren, the team with which he is now a reserve driver in Formula One, as well as with his representatives from the Monaco Increase Management agency.
“Monaco Increase Management is bitterly disappointed to learn of Álex Palou’s decision to break his existing agreement with McLaren for 2024 and beyond,” the agency published this Saturday on its Instagram account. IndyCar Champion in 2021In 2022, Palou was involved in a major controversy involving duplication of contracts between Chip Ganassi and McLaren.
Chip Ganassi announced in July of last year and unilaterally that he had renewed the Spaniard for 2023, but Palou immediately responded on social networks by criticizing his team in IndyCar and announcing that the following year he would be at McLaren.
That legal mess ended with an agreement by whiche Palou would continue one more season as Chip Ganassi’s driver in IndyCar while at the same time he would be a reserve driver in McLaren’s Formula One, with whom he has done several tests in recent months.
A leaked letter
The information blossomed through a leaked letter from Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren, to Woking employees: “This is incredibly disappointing, considering the commitment he made to us directly and publicly, and the significant investment we have made in him in based on that commitment. We have spent a lot of time, money and resources preparing to receive Álex”Brown wrote. Palou’s dream is F1, and in the short term, at McLaren, there is no room.
