Andretti has made the goal of winning the Formula E World Championship with Jake Dennis a reality
The Americans are waiting to make the jump to Formula 1, pending being admitted to the grid
Jake Dennis has become the first champion of the Gen3 era of Formula E in London after sentencing the title after placing second in the first of the two races that closed the World Championship in London. The Briton, in just three years, has gone from rookie to champion, with an impressive progression and has won the title after adding twelve podiums.
Andretti, on the other hand, has already made the goal of winning the Formula E World Championship a reality. and the Americans are now waiting to know if their goal of making the jump to Formula 1 becomes a reality. Everything is in the hands of the FIA and the FOM, which to do so have to expand the number of places on the grid, now limited to ten teams and decide shortly whether the American team moves to the premier category in 2026.
The Americans have made a splash in the electrical category waiting to know their future. Andretti has been committed to Formula E since its first season, working alongside BMW and with the name of the German structure during the Gen2 era. In those years they began to win races and in 2021, they fought for the World Championship until the last race.
The second wheel has been the weak point of Andretti, a team led by Michael, son of the legendary Mario Andretti, 83 years old and Formula 1 world champion in 1978. David Beckmann and then André Lotterer have been well below their level this season. The German will say goodbye to Formula E and the team must sign a new driver. There are names on the table like that of Sam Bird, Oliver Rowland y Maximilian Günther.
